One of the newest individual medical benefits available through Assurant Health is TelaDoc™ Medical Services. Now customers have another choice for routine medical care. TelaDoc services provide a telephone consultation with a doctor – available at anytime – holidays, weekends and even in the middle of the night.
With the more traditional forms of care it can sometimes be a time-consuming and expensive process, just to get the medical care you need. Unlike more traditional forms of medical care, TelaDoc™ gives you access to a network of licensed, primary care physicians who provide around-the-clock, non-emergency medical consultations by telephone.

How TelaDoc™ Works for Assurant Health Members
- You are instantly connected to a network of board-certified, state-licensed, primary care physicians who live and operate in the U.S.
- TelaDoc™ connects you with a cross-coverage medical consultant when your primary care physician is unreachable
- Consultations are easily done over the phone, and only cost $35 each time
- Consultation fees are covered by your Assurant Health plan, subject to deductible and coinsurance. With some Assurant Health plans the first three consultations per year are free.
- Payment is quick and secure via credit card or HSA debit card at the time of service
- Service is available to Assurant Health plan members over the age of 10
Round-the-Clock Health Consultations
TelaDoc™ offers non-emergency consultations, 24 hours day, 365 days a year. When you go online or call to request advice, a physician reviews your previous medical history and typically calls you within an hour. When the physician gets back to you:
- They will recommend treatment or therapy, or if need be, refer you to a local primary care physician
- Update your medical file based on the consultation and whether or not you were referred to a primary care physician
- Prescribe medication when needed, and even call in the prescription to a nearby pharmacy.
